The 12th annual Polaris Music Prize was awarded to Jeremy Dutcher, for his album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa. Hosted by CBC Radio’s Raina Douris and held once again at the beautiful Carlu in Toronto, the gala featured performances from Dutcher as well as fellow nominees Weaves, Partner, Pierre Kwenders, US Girls, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Hubert Lenoir, and Jean-Michel Blais. Deep Waters, a trio formed at Girls Rock Camp Toronto performed on behalf of Alvvays.
“Zeus 2.0” took to the tiny stage for one of their first shows in almost 2 years at a very hot and sweaty This Ain’t Hollywood in Hamilton. It’s a wonder we made it that long without them!
Opening the night was Kate Boothman and her fantastic band (Ian Blurton, Anna Ruddick, Jay Anderson and Jeff Heisholt) ripping through tracks from her latest record I am An Animal.
